A hose, by definition, is a flexible pipe and is usually cylindrical in shape. The automotive industry uses a variety of rubber hoses, reinforced hoses and ducts in the cooling, lubrication, braking and hydraulic systems of assembled motor vehicles. Hoses are also used in sending vacuum or pressure signals to instruments, sensors, electronic management systems and actuators. Hoses are attached or secured by means of clamps, crimped fittings, vulcanized fittings, or integrated flanges.
